Phoenix Chemicals
Phoenix Chemicals formed in 1991, and situated on the Wirral and Annan, UK. Phoenix is recognised around the world as a leader in applying continuous processing technology to fine chemicals manufacture, providing innovative yet practical solutions for many of today’s leading pharmaceutical companies. Most chemical reactions are tailored to suit batch operations. This often precludes what would arguably be better, more direct chemical routes. At Phoenix we engineer the plant to suit the chemistry, an approach that can revolutionise chemical synthesis.
The Annan site was built and commissioned by Glaxo in 1980, later passing through various hands to Rhodia when it acquired ChiRex. It was then one of two UK sites run by Rhodia Pharma Solutions, which Rhodia ultimately sold to Shasun Chemicals & Drugs of India in 2006. Phoenix Chemicals took on ownership of the site in September 2009.
GSK Montrose
CEA have provided design and project management services to the site for over 15 years, with the last 4 years as sole Management Services Provider. The MSP Contract involved CEA managing projects in a full EPCM role, including full Validation.
