Company History

Clark Eriksson are a private limited company, located within the Central Belt of Scotland, which is part of the Engenda Group.

The company has been in existence since 1990 always based in Falkirk, Scotland, the company has grown year on year, with the addition of new Services like Process Engineering and Safety Risk Services to complement the original services of Piping/Mechanical, Instrument/Electrical and Civil/Structural.

Since 2001 the company has transformed itself into a total Project Solutions provider, giving ourselves the capability to Project Manage and deliver a total project from FEED to Handover.

We pride ourselves on being the right fit for our clients, who we provide with not only Capital Project Support, but also Works/Lifetime Support for smaller Plant Improvements and on-going Maintenance Support for technical problem solving.

We have a reputation for retaining our clients and longevity of service with some key client contracts stretching back 15 to 20 years.

In 2015 we were purchased outright by Engenda Group of Runcorn, Cheshire.

Clark Eriksson (An Engenda Group Company) has a Board of Directors consisting of the Group Directors.  Clark Eriksson has it's own day to day Management team, details below.


Managing Director - Scott McMartin BEng CEng FInstMC MIET  

Scott is the Managing Director (and Project Manager) of Clark Eriksson, he has been with the company since 2001 starting as a Project Engineer from Avecia Grangemouth, and has progressed through the company to Project Manager and finally Director in 2008.  Scott was appointed to Managing Director in the Summer of 2013.  His responsibilities include Key Account  / Project Manager for numerous clients, Technical Director of the Instrument/Electrical Function, Business Development and Marketing. Scott is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), and Member of the Institute of Engineering & Technology (MIET) and a Fellow of the Institute of Measurement and Control (FInstMC), he was also Treasurer for the East of Scotland Section of the Institute of Measurement and Control for 5 years, he recently achieved Functional Safety Engineer (FSEng) Qualification via TUV in December 2010. He started his career in ICI having served a 4 year Apprenticeship as an Instrument Artificer and progressed through the company from a Plant Support Technician, to Control/Electrical Engineer and finally was Engineering Manager for L2/L3 Plants, as well as the site Deputy Control/Electrical Engineer. He studied part-time for a BEng (Hons) Degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, while working in a demanding role. In 2001 he gained Chartered Engineer (CEng) status via the then Institute of Electrical Engineering. Scott is currently the Key Account Manager for CalaChem, FujiFilm Imaging Colorants, Gates and MacFarlan Smith contracts.  

 

 


 

Operations Director  -David Gowans IEng MIET  

David is a Operations Director (and Project Manager) of Clark Eriksson, he started with the company in 2004 starting as a Project Engineer from Syngenta, and has progressed through the company to Project Manager and finally Director in 2012, albiet with 5 years working for another company.  His responsibilities include Key Account  / Project Manager for numerous clients, Technical Management of the Mechanical Function and responsible Director for Quality Assurance.  David is an Incorporated Engineer and Member of the Institute of Engineering & Technology (MIET). He started his career in BP having served a 4 year Apprenticeship as a Mechanical Fitter and moved to ICI where he moved into Mechanical Design Engineering.  He specialised in Vessels Design, and moved to Syngenta when Zeneca split into 2 companies.  In Syngenta he managed the Small Project (Works Support) Department, before moving to Clark Eriksson in February 2003.  He is an active member of the West of Scotland Section of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.   David is currently the Key Account Manager for BP, Ineos and National Oilwell Varco (Merpro) contracts. 

 

 

 


 

Technical Director - Wallace Aitken

Wallace is a Technical Director (and Project Manager) of Clark Eriksson, he has been with the company since 1987 starting as a Project Manager.   His responsibilities include Key Account  / Project Manager for numerous clients, Technical Director of the Civil/Structural Function .  Wallace has had many secondments to Clark Eriksson clients around the globe, including Sweden and Texas.  He was our Site Manager when we were the sole Management Services Provider at GSK Montrose, for the delivery of all projects.  He also ran our operation at MacFarlan Smith for a number of years. His background is in Structural Engineering, and has worked in various locations around the globe before and after starting with the Company. Wallace is currently the Key Account Manager for Unconventiomal Gas companies like Dart Energy (Europe), now owned by iGas and also our MacFarlan Smith contract.

Our Head Office is located in Falkirk, Central Scotland, United Kingdom

This location is ideal for servicing a wide range of clients in the Central Scotland region and farther afield, due to it's excellent road/rail/air network.

From this office, we offer the full range of services available from CEA. This includes engineering and consultancy across a wide range of topics, supporting the total lifecycle of client assets, in addition to a full range of Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management (EPCM) services.

Falkirk is the home of our multi-disciplined design, engineering, construction and project management professionals as well as a wide range of consultants, support staff and our board.

We also have site based teams at various clients in Edinburgh and Grangemouth, where a closer, hand-on approach is required, for day-to-day client liasion and construction managerment is required.

Clark Eriksson Fury Basketball Club

Clark Eriksson have sponsored the Fury Basketball Club for over 15 years.  The "Fury" basketball team was formed in season 1992/93 and at that time consisted of Falkirk High School players and sports development players. The club, at this time, played in the Junior National League and managed to come a very creditable third that season. Since then the club has gone from strength to strength. The club now has 6 National League teams- and is one of only 3 clubs in Scotland with a full under 16 under 18 and senior men's and woman's programmes. The club also has 6 development squads- boys and girls at primary school age group, under 13 and under 14.
